Fissler presents the Fissler PrimeCut Collection knife collection by Alexander Herrmann

It begins with a cut

Idar-Oberstein, August 2025 – In its 180th anniversary year, Fissler is launching a standalone knife collection, developed in collaboration with renowned Michelin-starred chef Alexander Herrmann: the Fissler PrimeCut Collection by Alexander Herrmann. A logical extension of its premium expertise “Made in Germany,” manufactured in Solingen from special steel and smoked oak – a clear signal of innovation for this special anniversary.

An overview of the knives in the Fissler PrimeCut Collection by Alexander Herrmann:

  • Chef's knife (20 cm) – The all-rounder among kitchen knives. The long, wide blade allows for smooth cutting movements – whether mincing, chopping, or making fine cuts. The convex edge and stable tip make it ideal for precise work with vegetables, meat, or fish. Perfectly balanced thanks to the full tang.
  • Santoku (17 cm) – The Japanese interpretation of the chef's knife with a straight edge, wide blade, and slightly curved tip. Ideal for quick, controlled cuts of vegetables, fish, or meat – especially with finer textures.
  • Meat knife (18 cm) – The long, narrow, and semi-flexible blade with a pointed tip is ideal for carving, trimming, and filleting. The blade's design allows for delicate work, while the high hardness (HRC 60 ±1) ensures durability and excellent edge retention with minimal effort.
  • Chinese chef's knife (18 cm) – The large, rectangular blade impresses with its weight and elegance. Perfect for slicing, chopping, and transporting herbs, vegetables, and meat. Despite its cleaver shape, it is precise and delicate, not intended for hard bones – but for the art of cutting in its broadest sense.

“It begins with a cut – the first moment where craftsmanship, trust and precision meet. For me, Fissler PrimeCut is not just a tool, but a companion in the kitchen,” says 2-star chef Alexander Herrmann.

The launch of the four model variants marks a strategic diversification with a focus on high-quality cookware. “For ambitious home cooks, knives are more than just tools – they are the soul of the kitchen. That's why we drew inspiration from the best: Japanese knife philosophy meets Solingen craftsmanship. The result? A unique knife series that meets the highest standards – both from Fissler and Alexander Herrmann. Because quality ‘Made in Germany’ deserves only the best,” says Thordt Clausen, Director of Global Marketing at Fissler GmbH.

Available from mid-September 2025 in selected specialist shops and in the Fissler online shop (RRP from €189).
