What purpose does the Rubber Gasket serve in pressure cookers?

The Fissler safety system with patented technology consists of several components. The Rubber Gasket ensures that the Lid closes securely and pressure can build up inside the pot. The secure Lid consists of

the Fissler cooking crown with traffic-light function for convenient pressure control,
the Euromatic cooking valve,
the ergonomic Fissler safety handle with locking indicator
and the special Rubber Gasket.

These attachments ensure that the pot is securely and airtight sealed. This allows pressure to build up safely inside the pot, so you can cook food faster and more energy-efficiently. This cooking method is especially gentle and preserves vitamins.

The Rubber Gasket should be replaced after 2 years or 400 cooking cycles.

Clean

Cleaning of sealing rings

The Rubber Gaskets on the Pressure Cookers require Cleaning by hand. Here's how:

Remove the Rubber Gasket and the other attachments.
Clean them by hand with a damp cloth.
Place the Rubber Gasket back into the designated groove on the inner edge of the lid.
