Bread & Butter - German Soul Food

The aroma of freshly baked bread. A crisp crust. The unmistakable flavor of sourdough. Paired with good butter, fine oils, and a table shared with others.

On this special evening, we celebrate one of the most traditional foods of all: bread.

Master baker and certified bread sommelier Kai Schröer from the bakery Schröer will take you on a journey into the world of sourdough, slow fermentation, and authentic baking craftsmanship. You’ll discover why time is the most important ingredient in great bread – and, of course, taste the difference for yourself.

Look forward to:
  • A bread tasting featuring a selection of specialties
  • Sourdough explained in a simple and accessible way
  • Butter, oils, and delicious spreads to accompany the bread
  • Fascinating insights into modern baking craftsmanship
  • A shared German Abendbrot with a few delicious surprises

The program is all about bread and culinary expertise – from flavor and quality to an in-depth understanding of production methods and baking craftsmanship. Kai brings this expertise to Fissler Moments, offering fascinating insights into the world of great bread.

About Backhaus Schröer

Founded in 1951 as a small artisan bakery, Backhaus Schröer is now run as a second- and third-generation family business. Kai and Tim Schröer manage the company together with their father, Hans-Hermann.

With more than 50 bakery shops across the Rhine-Main region and over 400 employees, Backhaus Schröer has grown significantly over the years while remaining true to its traditional baking craftsmanship. Bread, rolls, pastries, and cakes are still freshly made every day.

Looking back on our last moment

Sparkling Wine & Its Bubbly Secrets

A man wearing glasses and a chef’s apron demonstrates precise kitchen technique as he squeezes a white object, resulting in an impressive spray of liquid droplets. The scene highlights Fissler’s commitment to quality cookware and innovative design, reflecting the superior control and performance offered by our stainless steel kitchen tools.

He is one of Germany's best sparkling wine producers: Mark Barth, Chairman of VDP.Rheingau. And he'll show you what really goes into good sparkling wine.

  • How do bubbles get into sparkling wine?
  • How long does a really good sparkling wine need to mature on its lees?
  • And do you always have to open a sparkling wine bottle with a saber, or is there another way?

Mark will answer these and other questions. Plus, you'll get to taste exquisite vintages from his cellar.

The evening will be accompanied by a perfectly matched culinary menu.
Michael Jandt and Silvio Orro from mj:so Kitchen will be cooking live on-site – paired with the sparkling wines being tasted.

You'll watch them cook, understand their decisions, and learn top-tier culinary techniques that you can apply at home right away.

Three heads. One experience. Our experts of the evening:

A man wearing glasses inspects an empty green wine bottle by holding it up to the light in a meticulously organized wine cellar. Wooden racks behind him are filled with similar bottles, reflecting a setting where precision, craftsmanship, and timeless design are valued—qualities shared with our premium Fissler stainless steel cookware and kitchen accessories.

Mark Barth

Passionate sparkling wine maker. Chairman of the VDP.Rheingau. Mark Barth stands for uncompromising quality and genuine craftsmanship.

He makes visible what distinguishes good sparkling wine – from maturation on the lees to perfect balance in the glass. This evening, he will share his knowledge directly with you. Understandable, precise, and to the point.
